We are looking for a Director of Sales Engineering to lead our growing technical sales team. You will be responsible for managing the technical heartbeat of a pre-sales prospect, and building out the processes to scale the team. Curiosity, clear communication and creative thinking are key to being successful in this role.


As a Director of Sales Engineering, you will:

  • Oversee the end to end POC process
  • Train Sales Engineers (SE) on process, common data flows, and data architecture
  • Advise prospects on complex technical concepts pertaining to their data architecture
  • Understand and train SEs on technical qualification and alignment with business initiatives
  • Provide feedback into product to streamline prospect deployments and POCs 
  • Design and guide POCs to successful technical wins
  • Position Cyral compared to alternatives
  • Develop process for handling and documenting technical objections


The right candidate for this role has:

  • 7+ years industry experience in sales engineering
  • 3+ years of managing a team of 5-10 sales engineers
  • Early stage startup experience 
  • Strong technical presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • An ability to uncover business challenges and architect a solution to solve customer pain points
  • Ability to bridge communication for customer technical teams, Cyral sales, engineering and support teams, as well solution architects

Technical Requirements

  • Strong practical experience with both SQL and no-SQL data platforms (e.g. Oracle, Databricks, Kafka, MongoDB, etc) 
  • Experience working with both data and operations teams to guide the right architectural design and deployment for Cyral’s solution  
  • Practical experience with deploying vendor solutions in enterprise (private or public) cloud environments
  • Great to have: Strong practical experience with Kubernetes and container management solutions (Docker Swarm, CoreOS, etc)
